forward motion

praise whatever you praise- the lynx is out of newport beach! the ladies of the lynx [and kent, our token xy] have descended on the town of oceanside. as the name would imply, we are right on the ocean so the town is naturally known for its surfers and for marines, oceanside being home to one of the two marine basic training camps in the country. after months of snobby orange county boys, let me tell you, the marines gave us sailors a warm welcome. we were hung over and a little sandy the next day, but no one was complaining. my new internet location is a comic book shop where i have to pay for my time online. thusly i expect my posts to be shorter and less frequent, but i'm working on the audio posting thing, so we'll see how that goes. kim, i love the idea of posting the menu. fuckin' great! when i get to a place that charges less, or not at all, i'm totally going to set that up.

FUCK i'm so jealous. A town full of hot marines. What an awesome change from the OC. YAY i'm happy for you and your sandy hungover ass.
If you have trouble with that audio thing, let me know. I'll figure it out for you because I have computer access all the time. You can call EVERY DAY and tell us your menu! LoL or maybe just the best dish you made and what rave reviews the crew gave you.
Love you and miss you!

Hmmm, I think the best way to talk to the both of you would be to just post on your site, Jess, since Kim seems to check in a lot. So, hi! Another weekend here with little means to do much. Bhodi and I were hanging out in a shop today and we saw some really cheap nice Opinel knives. Way cheaper than the states, and it was suggested that we can send some back to sailor friends in the states for still cheaper than you can buy them there. Just an idea. You interested?

Hey Erin & Bhodi! Thanks for thinking of your poor sailor friends back in the states! I had to look these up online because I couldn't recall the style. Sweet! So rare to find a folder w/a nice wood handle. The ones I found online were all under $20. Are they cheaper where you are?

How long are you guys going to be there, anyway?

So, that is the million dollar question. How long will we be in St Naz? The lastest is that the spars will not be complete until the end of Jan so the earliest we can sail will be in Feb, arriving in the states in late March or April. Its something that has been on my mind....

So, if you can find Opinels that cheap in the states, it might not be worth it with shipping included. They are 10 bucks here, and you usually find them back home for 30 in stores. So, just thought Id ask, but that opens up the question of souvieners now as well.... let me know.

Erin
